Cutting Processes and Methodology

Machining by chip removal can be classified into 3 main families:

1. Turning, which allows rotating parts to be shaped.
2. Milling, which is characterised by the cutting tool's simultaneous rotational movement and feed motion.
3. Axial operations: drilling, tapping, reaming.
